The opportunity: People pursuing a healthy lifestyle are unable to easily and effectively find the best deals on produce in their area.
My solution is an app (yeah, I know apps are kinda frowned upon) that compares the produce prices and deals at each store in your area (Publix, Target, Walmart, etc.) much like Hotels.com compares hotel prices in a given area. The revenue drivers would be advertisements and premium accounts. The app can promote certain deals at local stores (ads for them) and then if people upgrade their account they can lose the ads and gain functionality. A subscription model may be worth exploring also.
Hi, your idea of an app to compare prices of local produce provides a simple and yet effective solution to the problem you previously mentioned. I like how you thought of ways to drive revenue, this is important to consider because apps and ideas like this do require upkeep. The idea you are proposing is similar to an app like trivago, which provides deals and discounts for travel related items. As a result, you are accessing that whole user community with a new purpose, sounds like a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteI really like your solution to this problem. healthy food is almost always more expensive so it would be nice to have a way to find better deals on healthy food choices. Your app idea would be a way to easily find stores with the best prices for these types of foods. An idea for a premium account incentive could be a wider range of stores available.
